131km, bang on, no more no less..
WEEK 7 - still pedalling
Here we are, here we go, continuing on across this continent, God's creation, valleys and hills, fields and yonder. 2/3 and into the homestretch...
I can barely believe, hardly comprehend the enormosity of what continues on. Each pedal stoke leads us farther from the Pacific, and closer to the Atlantic (at times it doesn't seem this way what with north and south in the routes) but we are on our way... 20 more days and our tires will be in the other ocean. This is surreal.
Karen, looking good in spandex.
Today I rode the first 100k with Karen, and then the last 30 solo (and under an hour...it was amazing!) In the first 100k, Karen got... 4 flats... technically 3, but we changed her tube 4 times... the last time i changed her tire, from start to finish, in 4 and 1/2 minutes...absolutely crazy...
One of my favorite tree photos of the late.
We were in the town of Delavan, where the CRC church had put on a lunch for us. It was a great feeling, to go into a church and be openly received and people to be so happy and cheering for us. The food was delish, and especially the brownies....
ALong the way, some fellow people who really felt for us, and the purpose of our tour, came out of their facility and were offering us cold water to drink. They were so enthused by what we were doing and what we had done, and were just so happy to be a part of what we were doing. Here is a pic, of pastor Len with two of the people who were serving us.
Thanks for all your support, and i super love having your comments! Although i don't return any....
SEE YOU SOON, this coming weekend we are in Grand Rapids, the following St.Catherines...and then Jersey...
