The sun was shining just right, and i took this shot...while cycling...perfecting the art of cycling and photo taking... cycloto...is the name for it.
We made some good time, until the headwind hit us, and boy was it a doozy. George told us it was similar to '05 when they were heading into T-bay, minus the rain...
Our speed was dropped to mid-low 20's which really makes for a long 155 k ride.
When heading onto the highway, the last leg of the trip into York, my rear tire BLEW...like a shotgun was the noise....
SCARED FACTOR : huge, for i wasn't really sure what happened, i knew something was going on... and well, now i have a NEW busted tire. See i just put these new tires on the other day and now i have to go get a new one...blew the tire, and the tube...managed to repair it, and put a 'boot' in it to keep the tube in. Pumped it up to 70 psi, and managed to make it to 5 km from the camp.
The following picture is my new warwounds... they hurt... alot...and i even scraped my side, anid hip area... I have no clue how i fell off my bike, only that i did....and scraped my body pretty good. We were going at a good clip, 30km, and then we weren't... i swerved, swerved, swerved and fell... it hurts alittle still now, but livable.
THE WORST THING: When i went to shower and rinse of my new acquired war-wounds, i slightly screamed out in pain, because of the salt that i had emitted from the ride, went over the wounds which hurt more now then they ever did before....note to self, salt in wounds HURTS!
Nebraska was asking for a piece of me...so i donated.
I think what hurts more, is the brain, the thought of how actually did i fall, for i have no clue. One minute i am cruising, the next i am laying on the ground. Jenna a Jon saw nothing but me go down...I am doing fine, but it was interesting, for we had to walk the last 5 k to camp because my front tire was no longer 'true' and my front brakes were misaligned. I am thankful that Jenna and Jon stuck with me, for i would not have called the sag for any reason.

Hi Julia,
Good to read your blog and view the pictures. The scrapes from your fall look painful. Hope they heal soon. I don't know everyone in the tour so with the pictures of the legs I think they are in the order that you gave the names. I can see you are all having some fun. This must have been a hot week for all. I hope that next week will be a bit cooler and maybe even a wind from the west.
Prayers for all.
