So today I decided to take it easy and I rode with Pastor Len and Steph.
Len is a good biker and likes to take his time on the hills as well as take periodical breaks so as to not wear himself out. Along the way we had enough breath to discuss a great many of things and also have some of his knowledge passed on to us. We also shared with him our singing capabilities, positive spirits, and fresh outlook on life. Apparently while I was singing a song and going up hill, Len says to me ‘you teach right?’ whereupon I reply ‘yes,’ then he says, ‘Music’ and I answered no, and he said, “GOOD” quite emphatically. So what I took from this is that I can’t sing while biking and going up a hill, not necessarily that I can’t sing.
Today’s ride was somewhat hard, somewhat easy. We got off to a early start at seven fifteen, and headed out through the town….too many one way, wrong way streets and we were looking for help in the right direction. There was a big group of us stopped at a corner when a gentleman pulled up and asked us where we were going and what we are doing…so we shared with him, and then he led us, with his four ways, to the road that we needed to get to, since the directions were not correct. We went up this hill that seemed to go on forever and had a significant amount of switchbacks, which made for a pretty view back if you took the time to look. Then we continued on our way through devils canyon which had a spectacular view and beautiful scenery. Here at last we reach somewhat of the summit.
Today we also rode on the interstate, quite the busy road, I-84, I believe. Many truckers and fast moving cars, the only assimilation I can make here would be the 417, but with quite a few more truckers.
When we got into La Grande, I took a quick run, maybe 5km, cause the coach asked me to run 3 times a week, and then I took my bike into town to the bike shop, whereupon I got a new rear pack off my seat post, and my gears tuned up, for they were not shifting as nicely as I would have liked them to. It was quite the quick afternoon for after I was done that it was supper time, and then I took a quick shower before we had our en masse group meeting--Peleton tonight was quite jovial and serious at the same time. We now get our weather update as well as all other announcements at this time.
quote of the day...tony : you know you're going slow up a hill when a measly little butterfly passes you by.

Your doing all this biking and the coach STILL wants you to run? Crazyness. I hope you are still have fun on this crazy adventure of yours. It sounds like some days can be tough. We are of course always thinking about you.
I've been playing a lot of guitar lately, I'm looking forward to playing with you this fall!

Hi Julia;
Since Stephanie is having so many problems with blogging, lots of her 'followers' are reading your blog! I am her Aunt Yo and love her to pieces. Please give her a big hug and kiss for me!
Sending love and prayers!
Hey Juls!
Hope you are having fun! Sounds exhausting to me!! But I will readily admit I am rather jealous of your tan lines. It is bloody freezing here in Aussie land!! I'm wearing mitts and scarfs when outside and actually wish I had brought more winter clothing!! Hope you are well!
