Huntington to ONTARIO…of all places - 55km
THE WIND WAS AT OUR BACKS!!! WOOT WOOT

This morning was quite organizationally challenged, since at midnight last night we decided to cart our stuff into the Huntington School, and abandon our tents. Things were shortly reorganized and we had many conversations about our sleep last night (or lack there of), the wind had swept down many a tents, and created some havoc on some peoples sleeping arrangements.

A quick break along the highway...

When we were about to head out, Jenna had a flat and we waited for her to fix that.
Many flats this week are due to a thing called ‘goats head’ (see picture)
They are sharp hard little things that can puncture through your tire and put a whole in your inner tube, thusly causing a flat (sometimes a slow leak). It is a nasty weed that we are not fond of right now.

the terrible dreaded goats head

don't they look disgusting!!

they hurt too when going in your foot, must wear flipflops at all times...note to self, had three in my foot this morning :)

Jeff, Hilena, Ryan and I rode together from Huntington to Ontario. It only took a little less than two hours of cycling, we were booking it! We just zoomed here, and now my top speed is 73km an hour, I don’t think I will attempt much faster than that, for my front wheel slightly starts to wobble.

When coming down the hill we entered a new time zone...imagine that, jumping ahead an hour

by crossing this imaginary line

We had a lovely tail wind which aided us in getting here (ontario) quickly. Hilena and I set up our tents right away, and then went for a little jog around the area. WE returned back to our campsite to get ready (shower) before supper. The internet is not working again for seatosea, so a few of us are at an internet cafe shop, and are finally uploading some photos and a few videos, this time around i am putting them chronologically backwards for those of you who need it that way!!

Well, this is a picture of me...with some of Oregon in the background...

not loving the helmet head, but really getting used to it, and

spandex...well spandex deserves a whole blog on its own....

There are many stories and highlights to every day, and sometimes one day seems like two. The time is absolutely flying by, and it is slightly unbelievable that tomorrow is the two week marker for being away. So much has been covered and there is so much to go. Many of us are becoming more comfortable with each other, and I am trying to bridge that generational gap...i try to eat supper with different people and strike up conversations with those who are sitting on their own....i have taking a particular liking to Arnie, who calls himself a FOG,(fat old grampa). He is 70 years old and immensely enjoying this tour, the cause and the people. Although, thoroughly missing his wife. There are many troopers on this tour, young and old, and with each of them I give my utmost respect as well as am impressed by their drive and ability. Wouldn't it be nice to know that when you are 70 you too could cross the continent on a bike...have the ability, the stamina, the strenght and God's grace through it all?

These people are amazing.
Pastor Len, coming across the street in Huntington
-the MAIN street

the main street of huntington, where we got some cold beverages...oh pepsi i missed you!

Waiting for the gear truck to get to the high school, keeping cool in the shade on main street of huntington (in picture, Heidi, Stephani, Kaitlyn, Denise....and Hilenas legs!)
