Sultan to Leavenworth

This morning was another early day. It all started with the clanging of poles from all the tents being taken down at 5 30 this morning. It was all good and well because today was a long ride day of sorts (127km). Hilena, Laura, Jess and Len and I started off together, and then we were joined by Johnny and bryan, which allowed for us to have good group....we lost Len, he tagged off to go with a 'slower' group and we continued on. Every one has their own speed and they need to find what they are comfortable with. We are learning to go slow, enjoy what we see and take in, for when is the next time you can possibly do something like this, or see the places you are now. The start of the ride went well, will little mishaps but the road narrowed and we began to use the white line and start lining up and taking turns leading. It was all good and well until a semi was oncoming and a car was coming from behind, when Johnny decided he would cut in in front of me...unfortunately he cuts in as he is saying the words, which means he cuts into the front tire of the person behind him---being me...so as you all can see, the start is very good...2 flats, 1 broken chain and now a tumble because Johnny "hooked" me in the first 25 km of todays ride. Her is a picture of "Johnny the hooker" and I...
What a funny time, I kinda struck the ground with a bounce of sort, just after the car had passed , thankfully, and then got up with a little shake and a yell "i am okay, yup okay, i'm good, let's go" onto the bike i hopped and away we went...next i notice that my back rack on my bike was jiggling good.... well with the fall it had dislodged a nut and my whole pack came undone. NOT GOOD. Lucky me, i bought the bag at MEC that turns into a backpack, not a very comfortable one, but a back pack nonetheless...A stop along the way was where 'harry and the hendersons' was filmed. A few shots of this are neat. Here Hilena jumped in to get her photo taken and took the second toe of Big foot off, she tried to take it with her as memorabelia, but it was slightly still attached.....

There was also a very beautiful cold waterfall along the ride towards steven's pass called 'deception falls'. It was a very nice stop where we took a break for a few minutes, to rest our butts and legs. The water was so cold, and running so swiftly, the spray off of it was a nice refresher for such a warm day.

The hill we climbed today, was quite the long continuous arduous hill....my goodness every corner we turned i thought we would have reached the top, but nope it was not reached until past the 70k mark....but let me tell you, the 14km ride down with out pedalling and reaching a speed of 70 km an hour is quite enjoyable...Also the ride along the river downhill for quite some time was absolutel magnificent and beautiful.
This last picture is of the other side of steven's pass. After we had come most of the way down from 4000 some feet. What a ride down...and what a view back.

Get all those nasty flats and falls done early!
I figured you had a 15 mile climb from the elevation chart.Good work.

I hope there are good helpers to fix your bike rack. Maybe a lock washer would help keep things together.
