Yeah!!! Finally a post

Sunrise this morning :) such a beautiful thing to have this morning !!
So I will begin with Saturday the 6th of July and try to catch you all up as best I can before I fall asleep!
Saturday was a super long day, I awoke early and left Brantford with Kaitlyn (Jeremy drove me to the airport- lovelove)
At 530 am,we checked in with our bikes in.boxes and our monstrous hockey bags  filled with all we need for 7 weeks. 2 laundry hampers and a hockey bag is your allotted luggage amount- bike gear, regular wear, tent, bed, pillow.... And whatever else.
We made it through sending our bikes to oversized luggage, then customs,  and onwards to our terminal.
The first flight was 4 hours to Denver... Not luxury, no TVs... So Kaitlyn and I tried to chat away some of our nerves. You have no idea what your heading into until you are actually in it.
The second flight was a puddle jumper of a plane ----  turbulence-y.
We arrived at the Farmington airport along with Jake Pasma and met up with Rachel who is joining the tour for 4 weeks.
Saturday around 5pm New Mexico time so 7 EST we arrived at ship rock where we organized our hampers and put together our bikes.  Still feeling some nerves and getting to know a few people.

Sunday- we engaged in a morning service and then hung out with the Navajo people of the area, they indulged us with a Navajo flatbread covered with many toppings much like a taco or wrap.
We also were able to jump in a sag wagon and head to four couriers... Where Utah, Arizona, New Mexico and Colorado meet. Neat experience.

Monday- true test!!!
Today we rode 90 km
From ship rock to San Juan ... The route had been altered due to changes in accommodations and other logistics.
This was a great first ride.
Feels just like riding a bike today!

Tuesday-San Juan to creel
Hilly!!! 140 km of hills!
Rode many many hilly km with headwind and bumps and climbs and sore butt :)

Wednesday - creel to alamosa
125 k ish
Today was a mountain pass day... 35 km of climbing to start followed by a glorious downhill.
Today We encountered everything!!!
Rain, hail, thunder, lightening and a flat. Kaitlyns tire was low so we changed it and found a hole in her tube, didn't have time to wait and patch it because we had just out biked the overhead storm that was rolling in behind us from over the mountains !!! Unfortunately we got caught in it again but managed to bike out of it shortly.
