Wohoo, can't believe we are now 105 days away until the beginning of our TOUR.I am greatly excited to embark on this fantastic journey with so many others who are alongfor the 'ride' .Okay, i better begin at the beginning, nope not Genesis...but rather the chapter of Julia...Me; My name is Julia Wissink...(writing that makes me feel like i am in a support group....of sorts), I am a Teacher (which i love and have a great time everyday...oh the jokes and humour of kids kills me!). I live in Ottawa, the big ol'capital city...(of CANADA) I signed up for sea to sea because when it came around in '05, i was a student in debt, and paying off a car...among other bills. One thing led to another and I never ended up filling out the sign up form (WHICH I STILL HAVE). When i heard about seatosea for '08, i plunged right in and signed up right away....and here i am, setting up a blog, on my march break in florida (cause now i have the time) for my fellowcyclists whom i know are going to become a great part of new chapters in my life and any other person who is intrigued or interested in the going ons of the coming months!..... I am so eager to get out there and see all of you...yet the almost 400cm of snow that Ottawa has received up to date is a little discouraging and daunting..I went for a walk around my families property and the snow was (let me emphasize) WAS thigh deep...okay, for me at 5'5" that IS DEEP...Since i didn't purchase SNOW tires for my bike, i have kept my friendly two wheeler indoors where it will not be attacked by the salt and sand that is on our roads... I am hoping soon, that I can take it out for a ride...maybe when the weather is a little nicer... For now i will continue to crazily make my body work out at the gym and or in my room with my bike on a trainer.... my radio, or laptop with a movie seems to work well for me.
This is it for now... time to suntan :)
